Bagpipes playing Amazing Grace and/or Flowers of the Forest at the memorial service provides a tribute no finer. A piper, off in the distance, playing leaves an everlasting impression.
Listed below are only suggestions or guidelines to help you decide your needs. We have been doing memorial services for over 45 years. With that many years of experience, we can provide insight in making your funeral service memorable. Even if you do not hire us, we would be happy to consult with you on any part of your memorial service plans.
Funerals are often very short notice, however, we will get back to you within 4-8 hours after your initial call.
We always have two sets of Bagpipes. The Great Highland Bagpipes (GHP) and Fireside Bagpipes. The GHP are the Bagpipes most people are familiar with. These are great for “open space” areas, whereas the Fireside Bagpipers were developed specifically for “close space” areas.
We also provide “In home” funerals services
Funeral Home – As Guest Arrive/Processional
- Outside as guests arrive
- In the lobby using Fireside Bagpipes.
- Piper at the start of the service. Lead family/paster into their positions
- or next to the casket as the service is being prepared and guests are being seated, using Fireside Bagpipes.
Funeral Home – During Service
Pipe one specific tune.
- Next to casket using either Fireside Bagpipes or Full Bagpipes (GHB).
- or Full Bagpipes, in a different location so as not to be loud for the guests.
Funeral Home – Recessional
- Next to casket using Fireside Bagpipes/GHB as guest pass by the casket for last farewell.
- Pipe the casket out to the hearse.
- Continue piping as guest depart. Generally, we pipe uplifting tunes so as to celebrate someone moving onto a better life.
Church – As Guest Arrive/Processional
- Outside as guests arrive
- In the lobby using Fireside Bagpipes.
- Piper at the start of the service. Lead family/paster into their positions
- or next to the casket as the service is being prepared and guests are being seated, using Fireside Bagpipes.
Church – During Service
- Pipe one specific tune.
- Next to casket using either Fireside Bagpipes or Full Bagpipes (GHB).
- or Full Bagpipes, in a different location so as not to be loud for the guests.
Church – Recessional
- Pipe the casket out to the hearse.
- Continue piping as guest depart. Generally, we pipe uplifting tunes so as to celebrate someone moving onto a better life.
Cemetery/Graveside – As Guest Arrive
- Outside as the hearse and guests arrive.
Cemetery/Graveside – During Service
- Pipe one specific tune during a pause in the service.
Cemetery/Graveside – Recessional
- Pipe as family and guest depart from the gravesite. Generally, we pipe uplifting tunes so as to celebrate someone moving onto a better life.
- On request, we are available to pipe at the reception. .
