Professional Great Highland Bagpipers and Dancers – Detroit Michigan
Marty and Scott took 1st and 3rd place respectively in the North American solo bagpipe competition held at Maxville Canada.
The brothers had the honor of performing Amazing Grace with singer Andy Williams and instrumentalist Quincy Jones on their world tour.
Since then, brothers have performed in front of tens of thousands of people including: Bob Hope, James Stewart, Yul Brynner, Johnny Carson, Fay Wray, President Ford, Four Star Generals, Governors, Senators, Congressman, Corporate executives, Disney events, dignitaries and proud to perform with and for U.S., U.K. and Canadian Armed Forces and their Veterans.
For weddings, funerals, family gatherings, parties, fund raising, corporate events. Located in Detroit Michigan, Mentor Ohio, Monroe Washington. Yes, we do travel extensively.
Since 1968, Highland piping has provided Professional Great Highland Bagpipers and Dancers throughout the United States, Japan with Bagpipers and Dancers located in Michigan, Ohio, and Washington.
Highland-piping’s Mission: Promote the Celtic arts by providing top notch Highland Bagpipers, Highland Dancers and Irish Dancers.

How to find a good sounding bagpiper and what to budget for.
Grade levels for pipers are grade 5 (beginner) through grade 1 (very experienced) and “Open”. Open is the highest level of piping a Bagpiper can reach.
Two important questions one should always ask before hiring a bagpiper.
1) What level do you (bagpiper) currently compete in?
Our answer: Grade 1/Open (Highest Level)
2) Do you (bagpiper) have any recordings of you piping that we can hear?
Our answer: Yes
We understand everyone has a budget and we are very flexible with our pricing.

With that many years of experience, we can provide insight in making your wedding successful. Even if you do not hire us, we would be happy to consult with you on any part of your wedding plans.
Memorial Services
Honoring Those Who Loved and Helped Us
A piper, off in the distance, playing leaves an everlasting impression.
Bagpipes playing Amazing Grace and/or Flowers of the Forest at the memorial service provides a tribute no finer.
Funerals are often very short notice, however, we will get back to you within 4-8 hours after your initial call.
Special Events
Fundraisers, Corporate Event
Special events, such as Military Services, Eagle Scout Services, Cancer Awareness, Promotional ceremonies, etc., are very hard to plan for. We at Highland piping understand the stress of putting it “all together”

Types of Bagpipes
Great Highland Bagpipes (GHB), Fireside Bagpipes
We have three types of Bagpipes available. The Great Highland Bagpipes (GHB), Fireside Bagpipes and Electronic Bagpipes. The GHB are the Bagpipes most people are familiar with. These are great for “open space” areas, whereas the Fireside Bagpipers were developed specifically for “close space” areas.
The Electronic Bagpipe can be used to play with traditional instruments in that this bagpipe can be tuned to 440Hz.

Definition of GHB Notes: Low G, Low A, B, C, D, E, F, High G, High A.

Brief Introduction
The Five Pipers (brothers – Marty, Scott, Tyge, Clifford, Dean) and One Highland Dancer (sister – Laura) were introduced to the world of highland piping and dancing by Scottish immigrants and family friends Donald and Jock MacLellan.
